Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Our commitment

Navira is built to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and the accessibility standards required by NYC Local Law 12 of 2023.

Conformance status

The platform is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Partial conformance means that some parts of the content do not yet fully meet the standard. We have shipped foundational accessibility features:

  • Semantic <main>, <nav>, and <footer> landmarks on every page.
  • A "Skip to main content" link as the first focusable element.
  • Correct lang attribute on the root element, including dir="rtl" for Arabic.
  • ARIA labels on icon-only controls (language switcher, navigation toggles).
  • Keyboard-reachable forms with visible focus styles.
  • Color palette tested for 4.5:1 contrast on body text.
  • Available in ten languages, including the six citywide languages designated under NYC Local Law 30.

Known gaps

  • Some long-form marketing pages do not yet expose heading levels in strict outline order.
  • A small number of decorative SVGs do not yet have explicit role="presentation".
  • A formal third-party WCAG 2.1 AA audit is scheduled and will replace this self-assessment when complete.

Assistive technology support

We test against current versions of NVDA + Firefox, JAWS + Chrome, VoiceOver + Safari, and TalkBack + Chrome.
